TPH NOTICE 11/17: Taxify

An app called Taxify launched a private hire service in London on 4 September, without being licensed by Transport for London (TfL)

The law requires private hire bookings to be taken by licensed private hire operators at licensed premises, with appropriate record keeping. Taxify is not a licensed operator and is not authorised to accept bookings. We have instructed Taxify to cease trading and they have now done so.

We have also revoked the licence of City Drive Services, the company that Taxify stated they were operating their service through.

Important Information for Private Hire Drivers

You must not undertake any booking for Taxify, or for City Drive Services.
Any licensed private hire drivers found to be undertaking bookings through the
Taxify app and any other associated services – including City Drive Services – risk prosecution and licensing action by TfL.
